What do I do if I hate my microblading?!

This is every artists nightmare.

A client that, not just DOESN'T like… but HATES their brows.

If you are currently in this situation, please contact us!

There are times where you agree on a shape and once the artist is done, you are not in love with it. If they feel dark and bold, this will pass. If there are a couple hair-strokes outside of your desired shape, those can be corrected after you’ve healed. As an artist, there are bad brows… and there are BAD brows:

As a client, here is what you could do:

Firstly, contact your brow artist! Let them know about your concerns and see if they can help you to address any issues. They may be able to make adjustments to the shape, colour, or density of your brows to better suit your preferences but only within the first day or two. Let’s be real for a moment, you may not want to talk to them. In that case contact their manager (if they work in a studio) and speak with them. However, a lot of artists work on their own so you will have to face them. I suggest you have everything in writing, either by email or text. If you have a phone call, record the time and what you talked about for future reference. Realistically, a good artist will offer options to rectify the problem. Unless there is absolutely nothing that can be done, you could ask for a refund.

The part that sucks is that you have to wait the healing period. Microblading is a tattoo procedure that requires a healing period. It is possible that your brows may look darker or more prominent during the first few days after the procedure, but they should eventually fade to a more natural appearance. It is recommended to wait at least 6-8 weeks before deciding if you are unhappy with the results but you will be able to tell what the healed result is at around 4 weeks. Just because you don’t like your brows does not mean you can skip the proper aftercare! Not following proper aftercare may make any future corrections quite difficult.

It’s also not a bad idea to seek a second opinion: If you are still unhappy after the healing process, you may want to consider seeking a second opinion from another artist. They may be able to provide insight into what went wrong with your initial procedure and suggest possible solutions. However, if you do decide to have a new artist change or fix your brows, you may be required to pay full price of what that artist charges.

One of the worst case scenarios is that you may need an emergency removal. This can only be done effectively within the first few days. If your original artist is providing this service then it should be free of charge. There is no guarantee that an emergency removal will be successful. It's important to note that removal can be a lengthy and expensive process especially if you are needing multiple sessions.

You can also consider trying removals after the healing process. The sooner it is performed, the better the results may be.

Prior to any permanent makeup service, be realistic with yourself as what you are wanting to achieve. Good artists will suggest a shape that is complimentary to your face but should also be flexible if you are wanting specific. If you are not 100% satisfied with the pre-draw, you do not have to proceed with the service.
