5 Signs You Need To Change Your Lash Technician!

You've been getting your lashes done for quite some time but something just doesnt seem right. Your results are..just okay. Your lashes should never be just okay! They should always be fabulous!

Here are 5 signs that what you may be thinking is correct or maybe this is what you should watch for:

1) They Hurt! Whether its during your appointment or after, extensions should be comfortable ALL OF THE TIME! If your lash line feels "tight" that is a sign that the extensions were glued onto your skin and may also be too thick. That tight feeling is your skin trying to stretch but can't.

2) Chunks of lashes keep coming out! This can be one of two things: natural lashes that weren't isolated properly OR thick extensions that were improperly attached as volume lashes aka "speedy volume lashes". If you're finding multiple lash roots attached to your extensions...stop immediately! This constant tugging and pulling causes baldness and damage of hair follicles. If you find thick extensions glued together, the technician was improperly applying volume lashes. Too much weight on your natural lash can cause premature shedding and damage. Volume lashes should always be used with finer extensions.

3) There are white chunks on my lash line! Now this is a joint effort! If your technician sees this and says nothing to you they are not doing a service to you. Those white chunks are most likely blepharitis. It's not the end of the world but it means you are not cleansing your eyes regularly. If the white chunks come with a red lash line you should be removing your lashes as soon as possible! Redness indicates inflammation and needs to be taken care of immediately.

4) They just don't last! If you like dramatic lashes and find you need to be coming in every week or so, those lashes are no good. This means the extensions are much longer or thicker than what your natural lash can handle. The extensions may droop and when you're going about your day to day life they are most likely to pop off. Fast shedding lashes can also be sign you may not be using the correct aftercare. Remember, oil free around your eyes and the gentler the better!

5) They look very messy! This is a sign of improper application and aftercare. They may be criss crossing because when the extensions was attached it wasn't following the natural growth pattern of your lash line. Criss crossing is also a sign or poor isolating. When two natural lashes are glued together one lash will pull the other lash and cause the direction of the extension to go haywire. This also makes it very difficult to comb out as your brush may feel stuck. Brush your lashes daily!

Every technician is different so it may take a few to find your perfect one! Each technician also has different levels of training and retained knowledge. Ask questions and safe lashing!
