How To Care For Your Lash Extensions

You just got a fresh new set of extensions and your technician told you to keep them clean, but what does that mean? Here is a step by step guide to prolong the life of your extensions and keep your natural lashes super healthy and clean!

First things first, are you a makeup wearer or do you go au naturale on a daily basis? This will determine how often you should be cleansing your lashes.

For makeup wearers: this can be from basic eyeliner or shadow to a full on night out look. Whatever the case you need to be taking off that makeup properly.

For the au naturale ladies: you still need to cleanse your eyes of daily dirt and oil that collects on your lash line.

1.) Start with an oil free makeup remover, our current favourite is a micellar cleansing water. It's super easy and versatile and gentle enough around your eyes. If you only have makeup on your eyelid then use a tightly wound cotton bud soaked in your makeup remover and gentle massage your lid until the product comes off. Be careful of the cotton fibres as they can get caught between your extensions and can be really hard to remove.

One pump is good for each eye!

Lashpure cleanser easily breaks down our extensions safe mascara!

2.) If you have mascara on this is where the fun part begins! Grab your cleanser (we love Lashpure) and pump out the product either on your hand or directly on your eyelid. Dampen your brush slightly so it's not so stiff and massage down your lashes for 60 seconds. While working the product in you may need to rinse off your brush and go back in. You may look like a raccoon at this point but don't be scared! Rinse your eyes and check if you have any makeup left on your lashes, if you do pump out so more product and repeat. Otherwise pat dry and use your spoolie to brush them through.

And that's it! It's that easy! If you are a moderate to heavy makeup wearer use this cleanser after every time you take your eye makeup off. If you are not so adventurous with your eye makeup then 3-4 times a week is sufficient. Additionally using a lash protectant like Intelliseal will aid in longevity.

Happy Cleansing!
